Crude oils consist of various fractions of heavy hydrocarbons, which are known to precipitate as paraffin deposits. This is mainly due to the flashing of volatile light ends, which act as naturally occurring solvents or due to a drop in the process temperature below its cloud point. Wax present in petroleum crudes primarily consists of long chain paraffin hydrocarbons (C18-C36). These components of wax can exist in various states of matter (gas, liquid, or solid) depending on their temperature and pressure.
Historically wax buildup depositions have substantially reduced the storage handling capacities of crude oil tanks, increased the pressure drop in process piping and have had a dramatic effect on the performance of producing oil wells. These paraffin buildups have been an ongoing problem in the oil industry causing loss of revenues; higher operating costs and increased environmental sensitivity to disposal. With volatile oil pricing and prohibitive sludge removal costs, increasing demands are being placed on a more cost-effective means for paraffin removal.
Parafex Corporation was created to address the ongoing operational and environmental problems associated with the removal of paraffins and scale accumulation from producing oil systems affecting formation/wellbore interfaces and well tubulars. Several intensive years of research and development have lead to the development of a sophisticated proprietary paraffin removal process. One of the key components to this process has been the development of a range of proprietary chemical formulations and delivery systems. These advanced proprietary extraction methods have been specifically designed and tested to dissolve paraffins without affecting the refinery process. The Parafex process combines crude oil and paraffin which subsequently generates additional revenues.
Parafex Corporation is an international sales and service organization providing its customers with turnkey solutions for the recovery of paraffins from their process operations. Since its inception Parafex has been providing it’s customers with unparalleled performance in the recovery of valuable paraffin’s. Presently this service focuses on optimizing the production performance of well bores, flowlines and production facilities.
Parafex offers our customers a proprietary insitu mechanical/chemical solution for the continuous removal of paraffin from their production process. PARAFEX’s team of highly experienced professionals ensures that our customer’s requirements will be handled on time, accurately, and with the most advanced paraffin removal techniques on the market today. Complete mobilization of equipment, laboratory analysis, site inspection, infrared scanning and environmental compliance are easily addressed providing our customers with a high level of comfort in knowing that their project will be professionally managed.
Parafex has developed a range of proprietary chemical formulations that are extremely effective agents for reducing paraffins in producing oil systems. These range from organic products that disrupt the polarity of paraffin molecules and suspend the paraffin into the product fluid to proprietary solvents which dissolve hydrocarbon deposits completely. Our organic products possess excellent filming properties providing a molecular/metallic bond that will resist further wax deposits as well as acting as a biocide/corrosion inhibitor.
Wellbore and Flowline Maintenance
PARAFEX’s proprietary process disburses and removes paraffin buildup from clogged tubulars. This is accomplished by utilizing Parafex X30. Parafex X30 not only removes the wax but also inhibits the future potential wax buildup, unlike hot oiling and solvent treatments, by coating the producing system with an organic chemical film. This provides the customer with customized maintenance programs tailored to their needs. Parafex’s service is non-intrusive and therefore can be performed without the requirement of a well being shut in, eliminating lost production time and revenues.
Process Facilities: Treaters, Separators, Manifolds, Knockout Drums, Downhole Pumps:
